"Owning the Art Show: How to Conduct a Student-Lead Art Show" is a presentation style workshop where participants will learn how to plan, prepare, and present a school-wide art show that focuses on student ownership and accountability. In this workshop, teachers of every experience level will learn how to empower students to plan an art show that centers student voice and the school community. We will cover everything from how to encourage students to take on responsibilities related to curating and displaying art, to organizing, storing and displaying the art in a "Wow!" worthy way.

This session shares the journey of piloting a new National Elementary Art Honor Society designed to recognize young artists while fostering creativity, citizenship, school pride, and community service. Workshop is presented by four NEAHS Pilot Program leaders from Georgia.
Create an original figure sculpture from easy to find materials and a pair of scissors. Through the practice of character design and storytelling, participants will develop an original character and review basic human proportions. In addition to the development of the figure, ideas for extensions and advanced students will be shared for successful implementation into your curriculum.
During this hands-on workshop, participants will create a landscape with needle felted wool fibers. Layering wool fibers to complete the finished landscape they will leave with a finished art teacher sample and the confidence to use these alternative methods in their classroom. Standards alignment, classroom management for the project, and assessment options will also be discussed.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will experience a collection of quick creativity challenges inspired by classroom practice and Crayola Creativity Week. These low-prep activities take only 1–5 minutes, encourage risk-taking and experimentation, and can easily be expanded into full lesson experiences.
In this Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) activity, participants will explore the history and symbolism of traditional family crests before designing their own personalized crest. Using symbols, images, colors, and mottos, participants will identify and represent important aspects of their family, values, traditions, strengths, and personal identity. This reflective art experience encourages self-awareness, family connection, and meaningful discussion while helping participants visually communicate the people and experiences that have shaped who they are.
